Elsevier launches unified SciVerse information platform
Elsevier has announced the launch of SciVerse, a new integrated platform which unites its scientific research content.
The new service brings together the medical information company's ScienceDirect, Scopus and targeted web content into a single service, which will make it easier to access information and encourages collaboration in the science community.
As the first phase of the rollout of the initiative, Elsevier has launched SciVerse Hub beta, a web-based module which allows users to search and easily access the integrated content using a number of search applications.
Jay Katzen, managing director for academic and government products at Elsevier, said SciVerse will also help researchers to create their own applications to share with other members of the community.
He added: "We recognise that it is critical to involve the researchers and librarians in the creation of solutions as they are in the best position to identify and address their search and discovery challenges."
This comes after the company launched Malaria Nexus last month, a web-based resource designed to make it easier for professionals researching malaria to access relevant content.
