Eppendorf wins Scientists’ Choice award for Xplorer Electronic Pipette

Eppendorf has been presented with a user-voted industry award honouring the design of its Xplorer Electronic Pipette system.

The laboratory device was named as the best new general lab product of 2010 at the 2011 Scientists' Choice Awards, which were organised by the online buyers' guide SelectScience.net and held at the annual Pittcon conference.

In winning the accolade, the electronic pipette earned nominations and votes from among more than 35,000 members of the web community, who were directed to offer support for their favourite general lab, separations and spectroscopy products.

Kerry Parker, editor of SelectScience.net, said the awards represent a means for laboratory users to provide feedback on products to manufacturers.

"The product awards highlight the technologies which have made a real impact in the laboratory," she added.

Other prizes won by the Xplorer Electronic Pipette in its debut year include the red dot design award, which was presented to the company last March.
