Faster IT login times to be implemented for NHS staff

7th January 2020

Currently, NHS employees are required to log into several different computer systems with different credentials for each while tending to a patient, which can make their job stressful, and in some circumstances result in them reusing the same password, thus falling vulnerable to cyber security risks.

In aid to tackle this, the government is investing forty-million pounds into hospital computer systems to help reduce the NHS staff’s computer log in times, through methods such as, fingerprint access, which will reduce overall stress.

Serving as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock, stated: “This investment is committed to driving forward the most basic front line technology upgrades, so treatment can be delivered more effectively and we can keep pace with the growing demand on the NHS.”
