Five PR professionals shortlisted for Suzy Ferguson Spirit Award

Lewis PR and Gorkana have announced the shortlist for the Suzy Ferguson Spirit Award, which honours some of the most exceptional performers in the PR industry.

Now in its second year, the accolade is named after Suzy Ferguson, an inspirational and dynamic marketer who passed away in 2012 at the age of 31 following a bowel cancer diagnosis.

Nominees this year include Jonathan Simnett, managing director of Big Stick Communications, as well as Rich Leigh, the founder of Rich Leigh and Company. Nicola Green, director of communications and reputation at O2, is also up for the prize.

Completing the shortlist are Julie Firth, communications manager at the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust, and Speed Communications' Faye Lockier.

The five finalists and their nominators will meet the judges on February 20th 2015, with the ultimate winner to be announced at an event on March 20th. They will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of the inaugural winner Rosie Warin, then of Forster Communications, who has since been placed in charge of Global Tolerance.
