Forster Communications wins brief with learning disability charity FitzRoy
Forster Communications has been hired by learning disability charity FitzRoy to help raise awareness of the impact these conditions can have on patients and their families.
Forster has been briefed to develop and manage a research project that will examine the pressures on parents of children with learning disabilities, with a specific focus on their concerns about the future for their children, reports Gorkana.
A supporting media campaign will be targeted at policymakers, influencers in the sector, care professionals and affected parents, leveraging Forster's past experience in delivering issue-led campaigns.
The charity supports around 500 adults with learning disabilities through services such as supported living, day care centres and community involvement.
Peter Gilheany, PR director at Forster Communications, said: "FitzRoy is a fantastic charity and the issue is one that deserves a much higher profile. We're going to work hard on developing a campaign that helps to do exactly that."
Forster has experience of working with a number of charities, including Barnardo's, Amnesty International, Help the Hospices and the WSPA.
