Fort Doge Animal Health launches website
Fort Dodge Animal Health, a division of Wyeth, has announced the launch of a new global website to help dog owners gain information regarding a growing threat to canine health.
The veterinary supplier has added a dog owners’ section to its LeptoInfo.com site to provide information regarding the serious bacterial disease.
It notes while the disease used to mainly affect dogs living in rural areas, it is now also a threat to those in urban and suburban areas.
Tom Lenz, vice-president of professional services at the company, said: “Many pet owners are unaware of the serious danger leptospirosis poses to dogs or that any dog that spends time outdoors could be susceptible.”
He added there is a need for greater education on the disease and the risk it poses to dogs and families.
Fort Doge informs veterinary surgeons dogs can be protected against the disease by a combination of LeptoVax and Duramune to reduce cellular debris for enhanced safety.
