Fresenius improves business outlook for 2011

Fresenius has announced a revision to its business outlook for the 2011 full-year period, based on the strength of its recent performance.

The healthcare company has forecast further growth in terms of earnings for the final quarter of the year, based on the momentum seen during Q3 2011, with the Fresenius Kabi and Fresenius Helios divisions seeing particular strength.

As a result of this, the group now expects to see constant currency net income growth of approximately 18 percent for the full year, having previously improved its guidance to the upper half of the 15 to 18 percent range last month.

Meanwhile, sales growth in constant currency terms is predicted to meet the current target of around six percent, thanks again to the encouraging performance of Fresenius Kabi and Fresenius Helios.

Earlier this month, the company announced changes to the management board of Fresenius Kabi, with Mats Henriksson to be promoted to the post of deputy chairman of the management board as part of a succession plan that will eventually see him become chief executive officer.
