Fresenius Kabi experiences growth in first half of 2010
Fresenius Kabi has seen double-digit year-on-year growth in its sales performance during the first half of 2010.
The drug and medical device company was able to achieve a sales total of 1.7 billion euros (1.1 billion pounds), up by 16 per cent, with earnings and income rising by 20 per cent and 60 per cent, respectively.
This growth was underpinned by a strong six month performance in regions such as Europe and the positive impact of recent corporate acquisitions, such as the buyout of APP Pharmaceuticals.
Moreover, the company also stepped up its recruitment activities, increasing its workforce by three per cent to 22,490 employees.
Ulf Mark Schneider, chief executive officer of the Fresenius group, said: “Fresenius Kabi significantly exceeded our expectations … we are very confident about our prospects for the second half of 2010 and raise our earnings outlook for the group.”
This follows on from a record-breaking 2009 for the Fresenius group, during which it was able to meet or exceed its guidance across all financial measures.
