Fresenius Kabi names successor to current CEO

6th December 2011

Fresenius Kabi has named Mats Henriksson as the successor to Rainer Baule as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the company.

Mr Henriksson, a management board member and current Fresenius Kabi Asia Pacific president, will assume the role of deputy chairman on March 1st 2012, before taking over as CEO on January 1st 2013.

Concurrent with this schedule, south Asia Pacific medical care senior vice-president Thomas Mechtersheimer will become the new Asia Pacific head next March and will also become a full board member when Mr Henriksson becomes CEO in 2013.

This new succession plan has been decided in order to ensure a smooth transfer of leadership when Mr Baule, who has been in his role since 2001, departs the company.

The current CEO said: "We are very pleased with the appointments of Mats as my successor … [he] has an outstanding track record of results-oriented performance and successful management experience within Fresenius Kabi."

Last month, the company announced that it has increased its earnings forecast for 2011 after generating a record-breaking fiscal performance in the third quarter of the year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801231226-ADNFCR
