Fujitsu Platform Revolutionises Data Collection Efficiency

Phytocontrol has struck a deal to use artificial intelligence chromatographic analysis using Fujitsu’s cloud-based service system in 2023.

Fujitsu claims this system can increase the efficiency of data collection and analysis by 5x the initial amount. Furthermore, the number of human errors will be significantly lower, increasing both productivity and precision.

Chief Executive Officer of Phytocontrol, Mikael Bresson said that “Fujitsu Computing as a Service is a very good opportunity to speed-up and scale-up our collaboration to grow our business with fast and reliable chromatography analysis using artificial intelligence around the world.”

The food and beverage sector currently have many concerns regarding the supply chain and ingredient safety; therefore, this aims to be the first market Fujitsu’s system will enter. New research by the WHO calculates the impact of food related illness, with 400,000 deaths each year attributed to individuals eating contaminated food.

The Head of Conservation at the Courtauld Institute of Art, Dr. Austin Nevin, thinks that “with AI it would be possible to do a more nuanced interpretation of complex chromatograms… AI could become very interesting for us if we were looking at a very complex fragmentation pattern.”

Additionally, Fujitsu and Phytocontrol intend to expand their analysis-based artificial intelligence services to other international industries including healthcare and cosmetics.
