Future Science Group assists publication of new cell therapy glossary
Future Science Group has assisted in the publication of the latest edition of the industry's official cell therapy and regenerative medicine glossary.
The document – also known as PAS 84 or the Little Purple Book – has been commissioned by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and published in partnership with the British Standards Institution and London Regenerative Medicine Network.
Now in its second edition, the glossary is designed to provide a standardised list of terminology for use by all involved in cell therapy or regenerative medicine, both in the UK and internationally.
It will facilitate greater understanding and improved communication between those in the industry, while also demonstrating best practice standards and making the sector better prepared to deal with legal, commercial and societal issues.
David Willetts, minister of state for universities and science at BIS, said: "Cell therapy is evolving at a phenomenal rate and unless certain barriers are removed, these ambitious growth projections will not be met."
The glossary is being made available online and as a supplement to the May 2012 issue of Regenerative Medicine, the industry journal that has been published by Future Science Group's Future Medicine label since January 2006.
