GE Healthcare announces partnership to offer new software

GE Healthcare has announced a successful collaboration with a number of partners to offer new enterprise orders and pharmacy software.

It has introduced its latest Centricity solution, which it has developed together with the Mayo Clinic, University of Virginia and University of California San Francisco.

The new solution integrates with pharmacy verification, nursing documentation in consolidated workflows across areas of care and computer physician order entry (CPOE).

It offers users embedded real-time clinical decision support and customisable order sets design to boost turn-around periods for medication orders and reduce errors.

David Morh, professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, said: “Although CPOE has been available for over ten years, most systems were not built from the physician’s perspective but rather from that of the nurse, pharmacist or ward clerk.”

He added that this new solution takes an intuitive approach to CPOE streamlines and reduces the number of steps needed by a doctor to generate a computer order.

Last month, GE Healthcare IT signed a global reseller agreement with Ormed Information Systems to provide selected applications available from the Ormed product portfolio, including supply chain management software, general accounting and human resources applications and those relating to e-commerce.
