GE Healthcare claims three IDEA awards

21st August 2012

GE Healthcare has won three prizes at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), an event organised by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).

The first of these awards was presented in recognition of its Discovery IGS 730 interventional x-ray system, which foregoes traditional floor or ceiling-mounted designs to achieve maximum flexibility and user-friendliness.

Meanwhile, the other two IDEA prizes were awarded for concepts related to the field of mammography and magnetic resonance technology.

The IDEA awards are presented annually to recognise design excellence in devices that deliver wider quality of life or economic benefits, and are considered a highly prestigious international accolade.

Francois Lenfant, global design manager at GE Healthcare, said: "It is an honour to be recognised by the IDSA for our groundbreaking developments aimed at providing better care to more individuals around the world."

Earlier this month, the company announced a new collaboration with iBio to commercialise innovative plant-based technologies for the manufacture of biopharmaceuticals and vaccines.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801433615-ADNFCR
