GE Healthcare introduces health information platform

3rd March 2010

GE Healthcare is launching a new healthcare-oriented technology platform designed to allow clinicians to share and collate information in a more efficient way.

The science company’s new eHealth Solutions offering is an infrastructure platform which facilitates the storage and transmission of clinical data to different staff across a variety of systems.

It includes an information exchange system, allowing efficient management of patient data in a secure way, as well as a clinical portal and patient health manager for practical information use.

Vishal Wanchoo, president and chief executive officer of GE Healthcare IT, said this system will help to cut costs while improving outcomes.

He added that it allows clients to “leverage their existing software while helping them meet several meaningful use criteria and provides our global customers with a foundation and toolset for building national-level EHR infrastructure”.

The firm also announced this week that it will be launching its new clinical knowledge platform Qualibria later on in 2010.
