GE Healthcare to launch advanced version of Infinia Hawkeye
GE Healthcare has announced the development of an advanced new version of its pioneering hybrid Infinia Hawkeye SPECT/CT system.
The new Infinia Hawkeye HD Enhanced carries over all the benefits of the standard device, including its ability to combine anatomical and functional/molecular imaging.
It also offers a range of advantages, including NM patient doses that are up to 50 per cent lower than standard cardiac and bone protocols, as well as reduced siting requirements and scan time.
According to the manufacturer, this will make the technology – which is already used to scan more than 500,000 patients annually – accessible to a wider array of users, while improving clinical confidence.
Nathan Hermony, general manager for nuclear medicine at GE Healthcare, said: "We look forward to continuing our momentum of technology advancements that will help clinicians understand disease from the beginning."
Last month, the medical technology firm attended the World Molecular Imaging Congress, where it demonstrated new innovations such as the Triumph II tri-modality pre-clinical imaging system.
