Genetix has announced the opening of a new office in Japan.
The cancer diagnostic and biopharmaceutical technologies group is expanding its sales and services into Asia.
It has hired Eiji Takagi as president, Masahiro Tateno as sales director and Katsumi Katayama as support director in order to maintain the opening and operation of the new office.
Terry Pizzie, director of global commercial operations, said all three men had held similar positions at analytical instrument firm Biacore KK, which they founded and grew to be "most successful".
"We’re excited about the prospect of expanding our activity in this important market – until now Genetix has been represented in Japan through independent distributors," he added.
"I am confident Genetix KK will become an integral part of our global success."
The company’s head office and main research facility is based in New Milton on the south coast of England.
It has opened offices in San Jose, California, Boston, Massachusetts, Munich, Germany and Newcastle upon Tyne.
