Genus ABS announces new stud

Genus ABS has announced its purchase of a new stud bull, born and bred in Scotland.

The company is a global force in bovine reproduction and markets in more than 70 countries.

Machermore Augustus, son of Ronick Hawk, described by Genus ABS as a “legendary” Limousin bull, has been recently purchased by the bovine genetics and reproductive services company.

Neil Wharton, Genus ABS beef director, said customers can now access a sire with a “great pedigree”.

“We are extremely pleased and excited about the new addition and if he follows in his father’s footsteps, he will become another exceptional bull who will be in demand by dairy, suckler and pedigree beef herds,? he said.

Semen from Machermore Augustus will be available in the spring.

The company recently announced that it is able to provide sexed semen from sires which meet its high criteria.
