Gilead Sciences sees double-digit growth in 2013

7th February 2014

Gilead Sciences has announced its financial results for 2013, during which it experienced strong double-digit revenue growth.

The company's revenue total for the full year came to $11.2 billion (6.85 billion pounds), up by 15 percent year on year. Of this, $3.12 billion was earned during the fourth quarter of the year, representing a 21 percent rise on Q4 2012.

Strong sales of products such as Stribild, Complera/Eviplera and Sovaldi helped to drive this growth, while its antiviral and cardiovascular businesses also experienced significant levels of year-on-year growth.

During the year, the company has also made progress on the development of a number of new antiviral and oncology-focused products, which will support its continued growth during 2014.

Gilead predicts that its net product sales will be between $11.3 billion and $11.5 billion over the coming 12 months.

Last month, the company strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Robin Washington, Paul Carter and John McHutchison to new executive roles.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801691169-ADNFCR
