Gillette tops list of popular products
Over the Counter magazine has revealed that the most popular beauty product sold through British pharmacies is Gillette Mach 3 blades, it has been reported.
News resource the Retail Bulletin has published the results of the magazine’s list of beauty products, noting that the Gillette blades generated £3,861,540 worth of sales during the 12 months to the 23rd February.
The product was closely followed by E45 cream, Bio-Oil and Elentt hairspray, it continued.
However, the survey of products revealed that sales of the top 100 beauty products generated £69 million over the period, compared to £77 million for the previous 12 months.
Retail Bulletin suggested this shows that consumers are buying their products alongside groceries rather than through pharmacies.
Gillette is made by Proctor and Gamble.
Proctor and Gamble has more than 300 brands in its portfolio and last year generated $10.5 billion (£5.32 billion) in free cash flow from its operating activities.
