GlaxoSmithKline announces US base for new consumer health joint venture

GlaxoSmithKline has announced the address of its new consumer healthcare headquarters, which will act as the base for its joint venture with Novartis in this field.

Located at 184 Liberty Corner Road, also known as Center 78, in Warren, New Jersey, the site will house a cross-functional mix of employees, including marketing and sales, research and development and supply chain teams. 

This follows the announcement earlier this year that its existing sites in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and two offices in Parsippany, New Jersey would be consolidated into one new location. Staff will begin to move to the new office next March.

A centerpiece of the new headquarters will be a state-of-the-art shopper science lab, modelled after the company's successful shopper lab at its global headquarters in the UK.

Colin Mackenzie, president of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare in North America, said: "Our new site will bring our people and exciting brand portfolios together under one roof – fostering best practice sharing and even greater opportunities to get closer to our consumers and retail customers."

The new consumer healthcare joint venture was established in March 2015 following the closure of a three-part transaction with Novartis, which also saw GlaxoSmithKline sell off its oncology business and purchase Novartis' vaccines division.
