GlaxoSmithKline recalls toothpaste

GlaxoSmithKline has recalled a batch of its Aquafresh Milk teeth Toothpaste (0-3 years), a statement from AAH Pharmaceuticals has advised.

After it was discovered the product contained varying amounts of formulation, the healthcare company decided to take the precautionary action of taking batch number BN 388G off the shelves.

It is thought the small number of affected items would pose a minimal risk to children because most of the ingredients are herbal (namely echinacea, chamomile and myrrh).

However, it also contains Linalool, which a minority group of youngsters may be allergic to.

GSK apologised to pharmacists for any inconvenience and assured them they would be entitled to a refund if they are holding any products from the spoiled batch.

No action needs to be taken if retailers are selling the toothpaste from any other batch other than the one that has been named.
