Gore celebrates Europe’s vascular and endovascular sector pioneers

WL Gore and Associates helped to celebrate the achievements of four pioneering vascular and endovascular therapy specialists at a recent awards event in London.

The company joined with industry leaders at the biennial Charing Cross International Symposium earlier this month to honour the quartet of European physicians as Pioneers in Performance, acknowledging their exceptional work in this important field.

Dr Krassi Ivancev of the Royal Free Hospital in London won the commitment to ongoing learning prize, while Dr Dierk Vorwerk of Germany's Ingolstadt Hospital was rewarded for his dedication to sharing knowledge with peers and patients.

Meanwhile, Dr Fabrizio Fanelli at the University of Rome was praised for helping to create a consensus within the medical community and Dr Jim Reekers of the Academic Medical Centre Amsterdam earned recognition for his dedication to the analysis of clinical outcomes.

David Abeyta, leader of Gore's medical products division, said: "We congratulate this latest group of European-based honorees and thank them and their fellow nominees for their unrelenting dedication to advancing vascular and endovascular therapy for their patients and their peers."

Earlier this year, the company was the recipient of a prestigious industry accolade, when it was included in Fortune Magazine's annual ranking of the top 100 US-based companies for which to work for the 17th consecutive year.
