Government launches next phase of Change4Life

7th January 2011

The next stage of the government's Change4Life health scheme – the Great Swapathon – has been launched to help people make small alterations to their lifestyle.

Families and individuals will be able to get tips, help and advice tailored to their needs.

As well as urging consumers to swap at least one unhealthy habit for a healthier one – such as walking while talking on the phone and not keeping crisps in the house – the Great Swapathon will provide healthy recipes and exercise advice.

Families will also be able to get a £50 book of vouchers for money off healthier foods and activities.

The scheme represents an unprecedented partnership between the government, industry and the media.

Health secretary Andrew Lansley said: "I'd like to thank all the partners involved in this exciting project and I hope that it leads to more and more help from industry to support healthy choices."

Brands that have partnered with the Great Swapathon initiative include Asda, Unilever, Warburtons, JJB Sports and Haven Holidays.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800329968-ADNFCR
