Greiner Bio-One presents latest innovations at Eurogin 2013
Greiner Bio-One has attended the recent Eurogin 2013 life science industry conference in Florence, where it shared information on its latest innovations and research.
During the event – which ran from November 3rd to 6th – the company presented its new product offerings in the field of cervical cancer diagnosis, including CheckExtractor, a device for use in automated DNA extraction and preparation of polymerase chain reactions (PCR).
It replaces the manual process of extracting DNA from patient samples and preparing the PCR setup for subsequent analysis, simplifying the work done by laboratory staff while making it possible to process multiple samples to a high standard.
Dr Ron Opstelten, director of sales and marketing for the diagnostics business unit at Greiner Bio-One, said: "Together with the CheckProcessor now under development, this will mean that all the work needed to process samples can be completed as quickly as possible, based on the principle sample in/result out."
The company also presented data from the latest clinical study of its PapilloCheck HPV test during the event.
Greiner Bio-One employs around 1,700 members of staff and has 20 subsidiaries and numerous distribution partners worldwide, allowing it to maintain a presence in more than 100 countries.
