Haemonetics acquires SEBRA business unit
Haemonetics, which specialises in blood management solutions, has acquired the assets of SEBRA’s blood collection and processing organisation, it has revealed.
The business is being bought for $12.5 million in cash (7.5 million pounds) in a transaction that is expected to be completed over the coming weeks.
SEBRA deals in products used in the collection and processing of blood and some of its core products include radio-frequency tube sealers and mobile collection and ancillary equipment, such as mobile lounges, tourniquets, temperature stabilisers and supply cases.
“Haemonetics is well established as the global leader in blood management solutions, and the SEBRA products further expand the breadth of our product offering,” explained Brian Concannon, Haemonetics’ president and chief executive.
Last month, Haemonetics said that it is “extremely pleased” with its financial results for the first fiscal quarter of 2010. The group saw GAAP net revenues of $154 million (90.6 million pounds) during the three-month timeframe.
