Havas Group Obtains Australian Healthcomms Business

To broaden its Asia-Pacific footprint, Havas Group is purchasing independent Australian healthcare communications business Bastion Brands.

Bastion Brands will be included into Havas’ expanding health business, coined Havas Health & You, raising the number of staff in Australia to over 350 people. Bastion Brands and HH&Y have been working together for the last 3 years, providing a range of offerings to consumers throughout the industry and collaborating with Havas associates and agencies in Australia.

The firm, which Simon Davies established back in 2012, has locations in Melbourne and Sydney and is expanding into Southeast Asia.

According to Havas, capitalising on its health practise now is absolutely crucial because the APAC health market, which accounts for over 50% of the global population, is set to be worth over $300bn by the start of the next decade.

HH&Y has significant operations in 10 markets in Asia, where it continues to see annual growth rates of more than 20%.

Their next steps are to make financial injections into creating a Southeast Asia hub and supporting emerging talent in China and Japan.

Chief Executive Officer of Havas Group, Yannick Bolloré, said that “adding its capabilities to our global Havas Health & You network will provide specialized health communications for both that region and our clients globally. Bastion Brands also complements fast growth within our health PR business Red Havas in Australia.”
