Henry Schein appoints new member of board of directors

21st August 2012

Henry Schein has appointed Carol Raphael as the newest member of its board of directors.

Ms Raphael has extensive experience in the fields of healthcare policy, economics and management, having acted as chief executive officer as Visiting Nurse Service of New York from 1989 to 2011.

In this role, she was credited with greatly expanding the non-profit home health agency's services and launched innovative care models for complex populations afflicted by chronic illnesses.

She is currently an advanced leadership fellow at Harvard University and will be able to offer a wealth of strategic insights to Henry Schein.

Stanley Bergman, the company's chairman and chief executive officer, said: "As healthcare continues to evolve, Carol's broad experience will provide the Henry Schein board of directors with an important new perspective on this quickly changing market."

This comes after the firm recently announced record-breaking financial results for the second quarter of 2012, with net sales coming to $2.2 billion (1.39 billion pounds).ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801433638-ADNFCR
