Henry Schein celebrates latest climb in Fortune 500 rankings

Henry Schein has announced that it has risen to 292nd place in the 2014 Fortune 500 rankings, up four places from last year.

The company has now spent ten consecutive years in the Fortune 500, having debuted at 497th place back in 2004. Since this time, it has increased its annual net sales to $9.6 billion (5.73 billion pounds) as of 2013, compared to $4.1 billion a decade earlier.

Since Henry Schein became a public company in 1995, its revenues have grown at a compound annual rate of approximately 16 percent. This reflects the robust nature of its long-term strategic vision.

Additionally, the firm has been a Fortune Most Admired company for 13 consecutive years, coming top in the 2014 Wholesalers: Health Care industry category.

Last month, the organisation reported record-breaking first-quarter financial results, with sales rising by six percent year on year to $2.4 billion.
