Henry Schein continues record-breaking success in Q1 2016

5th May 2016

Henry Schein has announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2016, during which it maintained its recent record-breaking momentum.

The company's net sales for the quarter came to $2.7 billion (1.86 billion pounds), up by 10.1 percent year over year, with double-digit growth in adjusted diluted earnings per share allowing it to confirm its guidance for the year.

Its dental sales of $1.3 billion represented a 4.1 percent year-on-year increase, with its North American business performing particularly strongly, while new investments in local business partners in Japan and Brazil will bolster its future capabilities.

The firm's animal health, medical and technology and value-added service divisions all achieved double-digit improvements in sales during the quarter.

Stanley Bergman, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Henry Schein, said: "The global markets we serve remained generally healthy, and although we faced continued headwinds from foreign currency exchange in our international business, the impact was far less than in 2015."

In 2015, the company's sales reached a record $10.6 billion, having grown at a compound annual rate of approximately 15 percent since Henry Schein became a public company in 1995.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801817944-ADNFCR
