Henry Schein launches Henry Schein Cares Medal scheme
Henry Schein has announced the launch of the Henry Schein Cares Medal, an award that will recognise excellence in expanding access to care for the underserved.
The company is calling for entries for the inaugural award scheme, with the aim of presenting it annually to organisations whose work has been highly effective in bringing care to those in greatest need.
Nine finalists will be selected among applicants from the fields of oral health, animal health and medical health, with a medalist to be selected from each field.
Each of the nine finalists will receive $10,000 (6,390 pounds) worth of products from Henry Schein, with the overall winners to receive an additional $15,000 in cash from the Henry Schein Cares Foundation to support their charitable work.
Stanley Bergman, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Henry Schein, said: "Our company has been built on the concept of doing well by doing good, but we also know that we cannot do good by ourselves."
The finalists will be notified in January 2016, with the medalists to be announced at a gala event in New York later next year.
