Henry Schein ranks highly in world’s most admired companies list

Henry Schein has been listed as one of the most admired companies in the world in the latest rankings compiled by Fortune Magazine.

The company was ranked top of the healthcare wholesale category in the publication's 2012 list, while coming first in terms of social responsibility, global competitiveness, quality of management, quality of products/services and long-term investment.

It was also able to achieve second-place listings among other industry companies in the four remaining categories of innovation, people management, financial soundness and use of corporate assets.

Stanley Bergman, chairman and chief executive officer of Henry Schein, said this is indicative of its long-term commitment to corporate governance, quality service and social awareness.

He added: "Our first-place ranking again in the categories of social responsibility and global competitiveness continues to demonstrate that a company truly can do well by doing good."

This comes after the company reported a record-breaking 2011 fourth-quarter sales total of $2.3 billion (1.46 billion pounds) last month.
