Henry Schein welcomes colleagues from Ortho Organizers

Henry Schein is delighted to welcome its new colleagues from Ortho Organizers, it has been stated.

The former announced the acquisition of the latter – a privately owned, full-line manufacturer and distributor of orthodontics products with 200 employees and 20 sales representatives ? today.

Chairman and chief executive officer of Henry Schein Stanley M Bergmen explained that orthodontics is a $1.2 billion global industry.

“Ortho Organizers is highly regarded within this important market segment,” he commented.

Under the agreement, George Guttroff, president and chief executive officer at Ortho Organizers, has been appointed president of Henry Schein’s newly formed global dental specialities group.

Mr Bergmen concluded that the executives and leaders from both firms will work together to develop the Henry Schein orthodontics platform.

The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, but the merger is expected to be accretive to the acquirer’s 2009 financial results.

Henry Schein serves more than 575,000 customers worldwide, including dental practitioners and laboratories.

As well as dental, the company has three other business groups ? medical, international and technology.
