Hill-Rom reports double-digit growth figures for Q1 2016

19th January 2016

Hill-Rom has announced its preliminary unaudited revenue figures for its fiscal first quarter of 2016, during which it experienced strong year-on-year growth.

A revenue figure of $661 million (466.77 million pounds) is anticipated for the quarter ended December 31st 2015, which would represent an increase of 42 percent on the corresponding period of last year, or a rise of 47 percent on a constant currency basis.

The scale of this increase can be attributed in large part to the acquisition of Welch Allyn that was completed last year, which added around $198 million to Hill-Rom's revenue total. The strength of its North American business helped to offset a decline in international performance.

Excluding Welch Allyn, revenue for the quarter increased by around three percent year over year on a constant currency basis, while reported revenue was approximately flat.

The company's finalised figures for the quarter will be released on February 1st 2016, at which time its fiscal projections for the second quarter and the full year will also be published.

It was predicted last year that the Welch Allyn purchase will add more than ten percent to Hill-Rom's adjusted earnings per share value in 2016, providing higher financial returns as time goes on.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801810393-ADNFCR
