Hill-Rom reports double-digit growth in first quarter of 2015

20th January 2015

Hill-Rom has achieved double-digit growth during the first quarter of its 2015 fiscal year, according to preliminary unaudited revenue data.

The company's quarterly revenue for the three months ending on December 31st 2014 is expected to come to approximately $465 million (306.05 million pounds), up by 18 percent on the corresponding period of last year.

Much of this improvement is attributed to the recent takeover of Trumpf Medical. Excluding the impact of this acquisition, Hill-Rom's reported revenue would nevertheless be three percent ahead of last year's at the same point.

Its North American acute care revenues for the quarter came to $225 million, up by ten percent, which helped to offset a decline in international sales owing to delayed tenders in Europe.

Meanwhile, its surgical and respiratory care revenue doubled to approximately $126 million, thanks again to the Trumpf purchase. The company will detail these trends further when its full financial report for the quarter is released on February 3rd.

Hill-Rom has previously expected confidence that the Trumpf deal, which was finalised in August last year, will be a key driver of future growth as it continues to pursue a strategy of portfolio diversification.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801771059-ADNFCR
