Hologic appoints senior vice-president

Hologic has appointed Mark Myslinski to its senior management team, where he will take up the role of senior vice-president and general manager of diagnostics.

Mr Myslinski is a 30-year veteran of the life sciences and diagnostics industry, having previously acted as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of RedPath Integrated Pathology, as well as filling key roles at Veridex and Ortho Clinical Diagnostics.

In his new position in charge of the Hologic business unit, he will be responsible for all group operations including dealings in the cytology and molecular diagnostics markets.

Rob Cascella, Hologic's CEO, said Mr Myslinski's experience will be vital in helping Hologic to grow in a rapidly evolving sector.

"Mark will lead the growth initiatives of our diagnostics franchise and reshape the strategic priorities of this extremely important business unit," he added.

Earlier this month, Hologic agreed a deal to purchase Interlace Medical, the creator of the MyoSure hysteroscopic tissue removal system.
