Hologic launches new MyoSure Reach device

23rd May 2016

Hologic has expanded its range of MyoSure gynaecologic surgical products with the launch of its latest offering, MyoSure Reach.

As with other products in the range, the tissue removal system offers a simple and quick solution for women with polyps and fibroids, but features a shortened distance from the distal tip to the cutting window of less than one millimetre.

As such, it has been shown to get three times closer to the uterine wall and removes 25 percent more tissue in a simulated bench top model. This makes it ideal for accessing the hard-to-reach upper third of the uterine cavity.

Polyps and fibroids can cause abnormal uterine bleeding, a condition that is estimated to affect 11 to 13 percent of reproductive-age women and nearly 24 percent of women aged 36 to 40.

Dr Edward Evantash, medical director and vice-president of medical affairs at Hologic, said: "The MyoSure REACH device offers the benefits of the current device, plus expanded capabilities to remove pathology in the upper third of the uterine cavity."

Other offerings in the MyoSure suite of products include the MyoSure, MyoSure XL and MyoSure Lite devices.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801818935-ADNFCR
