Hologic showcases 3D mammography advances at NCoBC conference
Hologic has announced that it will be demonstrating the advantages of its advanced 3D mammography technology at a forthcoming industry conference in Las Vegas.
The company will attend the National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCoBC) annual conference from March 15th to 19th 2014, where it will discuss the benefits of its Selenia Dimensions 3D mammography system and its accompanying lower-dose C-View software.
Additionally, the system's Affirm 3D biopsy option will be shown, revealing how this first-of-its-kind breast biopsy technique can be used in the localisation and accurate targeting of regions of interest, including lesions not detected with conventional 2D imaging.
Hologic will also contribute to a four-hour pre-conference seminar on 3D mammography, as well as hosting two special events at the meeting to further highlight the advances in its 3D technology.
David Harding, Hologic's group senior vice-president and general manager for women's health, said: "The adoption of 3D mammography continues to gain momentum as more and more studies are published supporting the clinically superior benefits of this groundbreaking technology."
This week, the firm also announced a number of changes to its executive leadership structure, including the appointment of Eric Compton as chief operating officer and Claus Egstrand as senior vice-president and general manager of international business.
