Hotwire duo win UK Young Lions PR Competition
Hotwire has announced that two of its team members have been chosen as the winners of this year's UK Young Lions PR competition.
Organised by the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA), the contest sees national teams comprised of talented professionals under the age of 30 competing to develop an innovative media strategy for a charity brief.
Hotwire's Matt Watson and Paul Stollery spent a day developing a campaign for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, with their entry beating 40 other contestants to win the prize.
The firm had two teams shortlisted within the final six, which is unusual given that the competition is usually contested mainly by ad agencies and consumer specialists.
Francis Ingham, director-general of the PRCA, said: "The winning Hotwire entry demonstrated what a knowledgeable and creative team Watson and Stollery make and they are immensely deserving of their win."
The pair will now go on to compete against representatives from more than 30 countries at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June.
