Hotwire wins European PR brief with Qualcomm

29th September 2014

Hotwire has been handed a new European PR brief by Qualcomm, which is seeking to consolidate multiple markets with a single PR network.

The agency is taking over from the chip manufacturer's current PR partners in a number of markets, including the UK's Liberty – which has held the account for several years – as well as Hill and Knowlton Strategies, Burson-Marsteller and Edelman, according to The Holmes Report.

Following this contract win, Hotwire will be tasked with overseeing corporate and product PR at a pan-European level, with specific outreach focus on the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Russia.

Qualcomm is the world's leading manufacturer of chips used in mobile phones and is one of the biggest spenders in the business-to-business sector.

Richard Tinkler, Qualcomm's senior director of marketing, said: "For the last few years we have used a boutique agency model and our need now is for a networked agency approach."

Earlier this month, Hotwire announced the creation of a new head of engagement role to improve its delivery of non-traditional services, with John Brown hired from Speed to fill the position.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801751287-ADNFCR
