Huma Purchases Alcedis to Become Ideal Health Technology Supplier

Alcedis, a dominant company within data driven clinical exploration and technology, has been purchased by Huma Therapeutics Limited (Huma), a major international digital health firm.

The move will enable Huma to establish an innovative clinical trials team that will provide digital solutions for every level of the growth process, from initial phases to completely decentralised and hybrid stage 4 testing.

The implementation of Alcedis’ expertise across clinical and functional capabilities will ensure Huma is the ideal supplier of health technology.

Together, Huma and Alcedis have overseen almost 1000 research projects involving over 650,000 people in more than 60 geographical markets, and a variety of therapeutic fields.

Huma’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dan Vahdat, explained how the company “has been a leader in digital-first care and research, partnering with health systems and pharma companies and now with this acquisition we’re set to redefine the clinical trials sector.”

Alcedis’ Managing Director, Hanno Härtlein, has announced that they are “excited to be joining the Huma family, bringing our clinical trials expertise and capabilities to combine with those of Huma’s award-winning technology-platform.”

Jeanne Kehren, Senior Vice President of Bayer, expressed that “in 2020 at the JPM Healthcare Conference, Dan and I spent several hours debating how digital health companies should meet customer needs and become the one-stop-shop partner of choice.” Now, in 2023, Kehren “excited to see this becoming a reality! Breaking the artificial divide between on- and off-line is the key.”
