Idexx Laboratories introduces new SNAPshot Dx testing capabilities

Idexx Laboratories has introduced new capabilities for the SNAPshot Dx Analyzer to provide improved functionality with the SNAP fPL Test.

With the newly upgraded system, users can automatically download feline pancreas-specific lipase results directly from the testing device on to an electronic patient record.

This will help to speed up workflows, improve practice efficiency, reduce the necessity for hands-on technician time and minimise the risk of lost charges and human error.

Alex Miller, senior director of marketing for Idexx Rapid Assay, said this can be used in conjunction with other Idexx equipment to create an all-in-one feline diagnostic record, including basic blood chemistry and haematology data.

"The addition of SNAP fPL to the SNAPshot Dx lineup gives practitioners a new and valuable tool to help deliver comprehensive patient care in minutes," he said.

Last month, the company announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2011, during which it saw a double-digit increase in revenue.
