Idexx Laboratories names new chief financial officer

Idexx Laboratories has announced the appointment of Brian McKeon as its new executive vice-president and chief financial officer, effective as of January 1st 2014.

Mr McKeon has spent the past six years working in the equivalent role at the enterprise information management services company Iron Mountain and has a decade of experience serving as an Idexx board member.

In his new position, he will become a member of the firm's senior executive leadership team and will gain oversight of its finance and information technology functions, reporting directly to chairman, president and chief executive officer Jonathan Ayers.

He has also previously served in key roles at multinational companies such as Timberland and PepsiCo.

Mr Ayers said: "Brian's management experience and demonstrated business acumen, as well as his financial skills and leadership, will be invaluable to Idexx as we continue to grow and expand our global reach."

This comes after the firm announced the addition of fructosamine testing to the test menu for its Catalyst Dx Chemistry Analyser earlier this month.
