Idexx Laboratories names new chief marketing officer

Idexx Laboratories has announced the appointment of Pat Venters as its new vice-president and chief marketing officer.

Ms Venters most recently served as chief marketing officer for GE Healthcare's ultrasound business and can boast 25 years of healthcare marketing experience, with other former employers including Philips.

In her new role at Idexx, she will be tasked with heading up the company's commercial marketing efforts, including taking global responsibility for its marketing centres of excellence.

This work will encompass support of demand generation initiatives, market research and analytics, digital and social marketing, and brand and marketing communications.

Jon Ayers, chairman and chief executive officer of Idexx Laboratories, said: "Pat's strategic marketing leadership will help further drive customer insights and champion customer needs as part of the company's ongoing effort to strengthen the value proposition of our innovative products and services."

The company has also announced that Dr Michael Williams, its executive vice-president, will be stepping down from his current role this month, ahead of his planned departure from the company in February 2017.
