IDS Ltd announces double product launch

IDS Ltd has launched a fully-automated immunoanalyser device to coincide with the release of its IDS-iSYS Vitamin D assay, it has emerged.

The company, which is also known as Immunodiagnostic Systems Holdings, followed up its original announcement on January 28th with the news that both products are now available.

Commenting on the double launch, IDS Ltd chief executive officer Dr Roger Duggan said the move was a major milestone in the history of the firm and could stimulate significant growth.

"Automation of our highly-specialised diagnostic products will take us into much larger and more prestigious clinical and corporate laboratories, accounts that were hitherto beyond our reach," he added.

It is noted that the level of demand for vitamin D testing has increased following studies that highlight the necessity of the substance in fighting diseases and strengthening bone.

Earlier this year, IDS announced it would sell its haematology business to Escalon Medical Corporation.
