Immunodiagnostic Systems manufactures 500th IDS-iSYS device

Immunodiagnostic Systems has announced that it manufactured its 500th IDS-iSYS immunoassay system earlier this month.

The life science technology manufacturer held a special event at its production plant in Pouilly, France to mark the major manufacturing milestone, which comes two years after the product's 2009 introduction.

Since being launched, the IDS-iSYS device has won acclaim for its ability to offer high-calibre automated performance for the most challenging bone, cartilage and growth markers.

It received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration last year and is now in operation at various clinical laboratories worldwide.

Alain Rousseau, president of Immunodiagnostic Systems France, said: "The IDS-iSYS is a combination of 50 years of instrumentation engineering experience with world-respected assay development and we're delighted with how well-received the system is across the world."

Earlier this year, the company expanded the range of diagnostic tests available for IDS-iSYS with the introduction of the PTH (1-34) assay, for the detection of a hormone relating to osteoporosis treatments.
