Incisive Health appoints former civil servant as senior counsel
Incisive Health has announced the appointment of former civil servant Richard Douglas to the part-time role of senior counsel.
Mr Douglas is the former director-general of finance and the NHS at the Department of Health, a position that he held in one form or another from 2001 until his retirement in 2015. As such, he played a central role in every major decision affecting the NHS during this time.
Over his whole career, spanning nearly 40 years, he also spent time working for HM Customs and Excise and the National Audit Office, as well as heading up the Government Finance Profession.
His expertise and insider understanding of the workings of the NHS and government policymaking will help Incisive Health to provide a higher quality of advice and guidance to its clients.
Bill Morgan, one of Incisive Health's founding partners, said: "He is the best person to help our team chart the future of the NHS and advise our clients on how they can play their part in it."
The agency works with a wide variety of clients, including Bayer, Pfizer, Sanofi, NHS England, the General Medical Council, Virgin Care and Macmillan Cancer Support.
