Intervet Schering Plough execs discuss company strategy
Intervet Schering Plough executives have commented on the effects of the company’s business on the animal health industry.
Speaking at the North American Veterinary Conference, the organisation’s vice-president for the region Paul Casady also discussed the new combined group’s strategy for the future.
Describing the company as “using shared resources and a common science platform”, he added the animal health segment now contributes to 16 per cent of Intervet Schering Plough’s total net sales.
“We also now have an expanded geographic footprint, greater than 1,000 products, and revenues are spread over many species,” Mr Casady continued.
He added the combined company was a leader in products for cattle, sheep, poultry, swine and aquaculture.
Last year, Holland-based Schering Plough Animal Health announced Raul Kohan was to take over as deputy head of the unit, replacing Ruurd Stolp.
The company added the position will still report to chairman and chief executive officer Fred Hassan.
