Invitrogen Qubit platform rewarded

16th August 2007

Invitrogen has been rewarded for its Qubit platform in the R&D Magazine awards, it has emerged.

The item – which offers an integrated means of improving the accuracy and sensitivity of sample quantitation – was named as one of the 100 most significant new products of recent months.

Kornelija Zgonc, vice-president of instrumentation and engineering at Invitrogen, noted the value of the system within the firm’s corporate strategy.

Qubit is effective in "making science more accessible and making innovation less costly", according to the spokesperson.

Vice-president and general manager of molecular probes August Sick added: "Qubit’s small size provides flexibility and mobility for scientists in the lab – two key advantages in today’s complex research environment."

Qubit was introduced in April 2006 and assists with quantitation through the use of the firm’s fluorescence-based detection technology.

Invitrogen offers the product in a number of starter kits with included assays for out-of-the-box operations.ADNFCR-1050-ID-18247500-ADNFCR
