Invitrogen to present at healthcare conference

Invitrogen is to present at the 20th Bear Stearns annual healthcare conference, the company reveals.

Senior vice-president and chief financial officer David Hoffmeister has been named to lead the presentation.

A live webcast of the speech is also to be available via the company website, along with an archived replay made accessible online.

The speech coincides with the firm’s own 20th anniversary, Invitrogen reveals.

"Founded in 1987, Invitrogen is headquartered in Carlsbad, California, and conducts business in more than 70 countries around the world," the firm states.

"The company is celebrating 20 years of accelerating scientific discovery."

With a global workforce of about 4,300 scientists and other professionals, 2006 revenues for Invitrogen totalled 1.15 billion dollars (574 million pounds).

Meanwhile, on May 24th of this year the company’s fourth annual Global Volunteer Day saw over 7,500 working hours given to community projects by about 1,500 of the firm’s employees around the world.
