Ipsen appoints new general counsel
Ipsen has announced the appointment of Francois Garnier as its executive vice-president and general counsel, effective as of January 5th 2015.
Mr Garnier boasts decades of relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry roles, having acted as international chief counsel at Pfizer since January 2014. Prior to joining Pfizer in 2003, his past employers included Servier, Rhone Poulenc Rorer, Aventis and Pharmacia.
In his new role at Ipsen, he will sit on the chairman's committee and executive committee, succeeding the outgoing Nathalie Joannes, who is leaving the company to pursue new professional opportunities.
Marc de Garidel, chairman and chief executive officer of Ipsen, said: "He has spent 25 years building his legal expertise at a number of pharmaceutical companies around the world. He brings his knowledge and international experience in the industry as additional major strengths to accelerate Ipsen's growth."
This comes after the firm appointed Aymeric Le Chatelier as its new executive vice-president and chief financial officer last month, thus further strengthening its operational leadership team.
